Care Crisis Response Services

Volunteers of America's 24-hour crisis and suicide intervention center provides access to emergency mental health services for individuals and families in Snohomish, Skagit, San Juan, Island and Whatcom Counties. They can be reached by phone at (800) 584-3578 and (425) 258-4357.

 

Crisis Clinic  -  King County

The Crisis Clinic offers an array of services to residents of King County. The clinic provides immediate, confidential telephone assistance for those in emotional distress.  They can be reached by phone at (866) 427-4747 and (206) 461-3222.

 

Alcoholics Anonymous     Narcotics Anonymous     Al-Anon

Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are established, successful non-profit organizations providing recovery process and support for those dealing with alcohol and substance abuse problems. The purpose of Al-Anon is to help and support the families and friends of alcoholics.

 

Insight Journal

The focus of the Insight Journal is on the concerns of ADHD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and insomnia.  Additionally, there are several pages devoted to alternative medicine and holistic approaches for everyday wellness, as well as a large archive of relevant articles in the Community Corner section.

 

RealAge Depression Center

The RealAge Depression Center has information about depression and other conditions including Bipolar Disorder and SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Also presented are descriptions of the various types of depression, symptoms, risk factors and treatment options.  The Sites of Interest page includes a comprehensive selection of mental health related websites.

Emedicine by WebMD is a site that is aimed at the technically minded, with much of the material having been written by and for medical professionals.  If you are comfortable with medical terminology, there is a lot of valuable information to be found here.
